The epileptic nature of power supply from the National grid and the high cost of running fossil fuel generators necessitate the need for an alternative power supply that is reliable, affordable, and sustainable.
Solar energy technology over the decades has proven to be a reliable alternative. Training a prepared and skilled workforce that enables the solar industry to meet growing deployment demands is a high priority.

This course has been developed for beginners and those who already have limited knowledge of Solar Photovoltaic System Design and Installation
The class will focus on the following:
1. Solar Energy Technology
2. System Design
3. Installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance
4. Software application
5. Solar Entrepreneurship

This training provides you opportunities for Partnership, Instant Access to Product Loan, Mentorship and Networking with solar professionals.

Our training modules are preparatory modules for the ECOWAS Professional Certificate in Solar Off-Grid PV (COSPVP) examinations that are also conducted at ASREA.

As part of our mission to empower youths in renewable energy and boost the local capacity in the industry, every successful certified technician automatically becomes a partner with ASteven Group of Companies and unlocks an instant access to Solar Product Loans from Green Energy Finance International Limited – GEFIL.

 Every successfully certified technician has the opportunity to also become a member of the Council for Renewable Energy Nigeria (CREN).

Due to the social distancing law in place, our accommodation at the hostel and the training center will be half-filled which means early payment secures a slot in the hostel for the training.

WEEK 1 – Intermediate

  • Introduction to Renewable Energy, Climate Change and Green Economy.
  • Introduction to Solar Photovoltaic Systems- The basic Electricity.
  • Solar Resources and Solar cell (Cells, Modules, and Arrays).
  • System Components and electrical connections ( Solar Cell, Batteries, Charge Controllers, Inverters)
  • Solar Photovoltaic configurations and applications.
  • Site Surveys, Safety, Pre-planning and Energy Audit.
  • System Sizing and Design

 

WEEK 2 – Proficient

  • Mechanical/Electrical Integration.
  • Completing System Installation, Testing, and Commissioning
  • Conducting Maintenance and Troubleshooting Activities
  • Load Separation and Distribution Techniques
  • Entrepreneurship and Solar product Training.

At the end of the training, Participants will learn the following;

  • PV System Design
  • How to work Safely with Photovoltaic Systems
  • How to install Mechanical and Electrical PV Components
  • Complete solar PV System Installation, Testing and Commissioning
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting Activities
  • Load Distribution & Entrepreneurship

Kindly come along with your passport photographs (2copies), sleeping blanket (duvet), flashdrive, writing materials, calculator and your gadgets to make you feel comfortable (Bluetooth speaker, headphones, Ipads etc) for the next 2 weeks in a Green energy environment with 24hours uninterruptible power.

Also,  come along with your personal hand sanitizers and face-masks, although the center will be providing hand sanitizers and hand washing deliverables.

  • Solar Photovoltaic Installation (SPVI)

This course provides insight into the PV industry and technologies. It introduces the fundamental concepts of solar electricity design and installations. Through project-based study, students will explore the theory, hand-on practical, applications, safety and benefits of solar electricity.
